The first trains ran from Perth to Albany on this line in June 1889, nine years before the township was gazetted in 1898. During this period the only habitation was a tented fettlers camp, and a three roomed hut made of railway sleepers used by the foreman Remenigio Poletti. Trains did not stop here. The mail to be dispatched from Tambellup was attached to a hoop and passed to a guard on the moving train from the side of the railway. Since 1979 the railway has carries only freight, and one again trains do not stop here except for the loading of wheat from the bins. The wheel has turned full circle
